Episode 36: Fuji Syusuke, The Big Brother
Mizuki and Fuji walk to centre of the court to begin their game. As the two were about to shake hands, Fuji drops his.
Mizuki seems to pinpointing all of Fuji's weakpoints, or what he thinks are Fuji's weakpoints. He wins the game, as Yuta watches. Mizuki continues to win until the game count is 5-0.
The crowd is cheering for Mizuki, but Yuta walks along with his brother outside the fence as the players are switching courts. Fuji stops Mizuki momentarily to ask him if he taught Yuta the move even though it would injure Yuta's shoulder. Of course, Mizuki didn't care. Yuta heard this outside the fence and was surprised while his older brother was extremely angry.
Fuji switched racquets and returned to the court. But the tables have totally turned. The spots that Mizuki once thought were Fuji's weakness were actually his forte. Inui again wonders if Mizuki got the right data, because Fuji Syusuke is the only person that even Inui couldn't gather data on. Fuji didn't lose a single point since and won the match 7-5. It was Fuji's way of paying Mizuki back for hurting his brother.
Meanwhile, Fudomine gains a quick win over last year's champion, Hyotei. Atobe (captain) recognizes Tachibana as one of Kyuusyuu's top 2 players as he is playing Shishido from Hyotei. And so Ginka, Yamabuki, Fudomine and Seigaku are in the best 4, and will move on to the Kantou regional tournament. Hyotei and St.Rudolph will compete for the consolation.

Episode 37: Tennis Ball With Ryoma's Face
Ryoma gets woken up in the morning by Nanjiroh, who tricks him into teaching his "friend's" granddaughter how to play tennis. Turns out that the granddaughter is Sakuno, and Tomoka is also there with her.
He sits there and watches them practice. Sakuno accidentally hits the ball really hard and it flies far away. She goes to pick it up, only to find it rolled into another school's tennis courts. The players there invite her in to find it, while secretly holding onto Sakuno's (which had a picture of Ryoma's face on it). They deliberately tip over their bucket of balls, giving Sakuno a hard time.
Tomoka and Ryoma find her. Ryoma also hits a ball into their courts and comes into "search" for it. Ryoma proposes that every person he beats has to search 10 balls. The captain offers to give him the 10 balls. Ryoma beats everyone and took all the balls from them.
While Ryoma was causing a ruckus, another boy by the name of Akutsu was causing trouble elsewhere. He sees Ryoma and is quite disappointed that Ryoma beat him to the trouble making. Some time later, Inui drops by Ginka and sees that they're all extremely tired (from Ryoma's matches). Inui mistakens this as extremely intensive training and considers intensifying Seigaku's training menu.

Episode 38: Penal Tea
Akutsu comes to Seigaku looking for Ryoma and see Kachiro and Arai who were doing their duty carrying the tennis balls. Arai gets beaten up badly and even Kachiro was about to get hurt. But Echizen shows up just before that.
Echizen asks what's going on here, and Akutsu just recklessly serves rocks at them. Akutsu calls that a greeting, then leaves the school. So Echizen shows up to practice all injured and lies that he just fell. Upon hearing that Akutsu dropped by the school, Kawamura becomes worried. Inui has added a twist to their practice. Those who don't finish a lap in a minute has to drink Inui's 'Penal Tea'. This seems to have a great effect on getting people to run faster.
After practice, Momo, Echizen and Kikumaru go get something to eat as usual and the group, along with Inui, run into Kawamura, who previously said that he had something to do and didn't want to join them. It turns out that Kawamura had called Akutsu out to talk to him about hurting Echizen. Akutsu in return, pours his drink over Kawamura's head and leaves. The woman that was there seems very frustrated by this. As Akutsu leaves, Echizen is mad and trips him.

Episode 39: Higuma Otoshi
Training on hell continues, as Inui threatens the team with his Deluxe Penal Tea. Inui also lowers the time from 1 minute to 55 seconds. The regulars question Kawamura about the pretty girl they saw the day before. Kawamura explains that it was Akutsu's mother, and not his girlfriend.
After their running, Tezuka tells Fuji and Echizen to start a game on the courts without time to rest. It's Fuji's service game and approaches the net to return. Both are able to keep their service game. One of Echizen's return hits the net and tips over to Fuji's side but Fuji isn't allowing that to pass as he runs up to the net to return it. This gives Echizen a chance to use Drive B. Fuji is barely able to return drive B with a lob which gives Echizen a chance to smash. However, Fuji unlocks another one of his triple counters, Higuma Otoshi. This counter returns all smashs back.
Echizen isn't happy with this and tries to find a way to break it. Fuji challenges Echizen, and continues to lob balls in his direction.

Episode 40: A Duel in the Rain
Echizen continues to smash the ball as Fuji deliberately lobs it. On one smash, Echizen hits the net and Fuji is rather suspicious. On Echizen's next smash, he broke the counter. The ball landed out of bounds. Everyone is surprised and Fuji wonders if that was a fluke or if he really broke it. Echizen tells Fuji that he doesn't have to continue lobbing, because he's already found a way to break the counter. Echizen does so by letting the ball scrape by the net on the smash so that it will miss the opponent's sweet spot on the racquet.
Ten minutes have past since they finished running and Ryuzaki-sensei calls up the next people to play: Tezuka and Momoshiro. Then after that it will be Kawamura/ Kaidoh. Lastly there is a showdown between the Golden Pair. Kawamura/ Kaidoh and Oishi/ Kikumaru have begun, yet Tezuka is already walking off the court. He defeated Momoshiro in a mere 5 minutes.
Clouds have begun to gather above and Ryuzaki ends practice early. But Fuji and Echizen can't seem to hear her call and continue to play. Ryuzaki-sensei has to yell at them before they follow instructions. That night, Fuji gives his younger a call, telling him he played Echizen today. He also says that Seigaku is strong, which pisses Yuta off.
